BLUEPRINT
Want a sharp, color-accurate print? Send files that meet these specs and you can skip the back-and-forth on fixes. Not sure? Send what you have — we’ll tell you if it needs work before charging anything.
Resolution & size
- Raster (PNG, JPG, WEBP): minimum
300 DPIat the final print size. 600 DPI for small text. - Vector (SVG, AI, EPS, PDF):always preferred for logos and line art — scales infinitely without quality loss.
- Build at actual size whenever possible. If you build at half size, double the DPI.
Color
- Color mode:
CMYKfor accurate print color. RGB files are converted in production and may shift. - Pantone (PMS) matching:available on request for brand-critical jobs — quote on a per-job basis.
- Rich black: use
C:60 M:50 Y:40 K:100for solid black areas. Plain K:100 prints flat. - White ink: on clear vinyl, mark white areas as a separate spot color named
White.
Bleed & safe area
- Bleed: extend background art
0.125 in (3 mm)past the final cut line on every side. - Safe area: keep text and critical elements
0.125 in (3 mm)inside the cut line. - Cut lines: for die-cut and kiss-cut, include a vector cut path on its own layer named
CutLine, colormagenta 100%, stroke only (no fill).
Type & lines
- Convert fonts to outlinesin vector files. We can’t guarantee we have your font.
- Minimum line weight:
0.25 ptat final size. Thinner lines may break up. - Minimum type size:
6 ptfor solid color text;8 ptif reversed out of a solid color.
Accepted formats
Preferred: AI, EPS, PDF (vector), SVG.
Acceptable: high-resolution PNG, JPG, WEBP, TIFF.
Files over 25 MB — send via Dropbox, Google Drive, or WeTransfer link in your project brief.
Common rejects
- Web-resolution PNGs (72 DPI) blown up to print size — they pixelate.
- Logos pulled from a website with white halos around them.
- Screenshots of designs instead of the original file.
- Text effects that depend on font files not embedded in the PDF.
